This is a unique chance to work with one of the top law firms in the U.S. as a Legal Assistant - Litigation Specialist in our Seattle office.

We offer a hybrid work arrangement with two days of remote work and three days in-office. This position provides critical support to four to five attorneys in the commercial litigation practice group.

The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of federal and state court rules, as well as proficiency in drafting, editing, and formatting pleadings and discovery documents. They will also be skilled in filing procedures in both federal and state courts, arranging for service of documents, and maintaining electronic files.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Draft, proofread, format, and edit pleadings, discovery responses, correspondence, and other legal documents
  • File pleadings in state and federal courts in various venues
  • Utilize billing software to run client-related accounting reports
  • Prepare spreadsheets analyzing client billing data
  • Maintain electronic files
  • Schedule depositions and meetings, make travel arrangements, and maintain attorneys' calendars
  • Track and calendar internal and case-related deadlines
  • Open new client matters and initiate conflict checks
  • Enter billable time into time-keeping systems
Requirements:
  • 5+ years' experience as a litigation assistant or similar experience
  • Strong skills in word processing and computer use, including proficiency in MS Office Products and Adobe Acrobat or Nuance
  • Extensive experience filing documents with state and federal courts, with the ability to read and understand court rules and ensure compliance
  • High attention to detail and sensitivity to confidential materials
  • Ability to work independently and anticipate needed tasks to complete projects
  • Able and willing to learn new electronic programs
  • Excellent grammar, proofreading, and organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • High level of energy and ability to work at a fast pace, with a focus on prioritizing tasks
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, service-focused environment and handle stressful situations in a calm and composed manner
  • Ability to understand and follow work instructions with minimal supervision
  • Availability and willingness to work overtime as needed or requested
  • A high school diploma or GED certification, required

The annualized salary range for this position in Washington is $77,000 to $93,000 ($39.49-$47.69 hourly). Actual pay will be adjusted based on the candidate's education, training, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
