Job Opportunity

Columbia Legal Services is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our Advocacy Team as a Legal Intern. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a team that is committed to advancing social, economic, and racial equity for people living in poverty.

Job Summary

The Legal Intern will assist with litigation and policy advocacy to address systems that harm and oppress communities living in poverty and communities of color in Washington. This includes working on issues related to mass incarceration and immigration.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with research and writing on various advocacy projects
  • Conduct outreach and education with community groups and organizations
  • Participate in policy advocacy efforts to advance systemic change
  • Collaborate with team members to develop and implement advocacy strategies

Requirements

  • Commitment to advancing systemic advocacy on behalf of low-income communities
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Dependable computer skills in word processing and legal research
  • Proficiency in Spanish is preferred

Preferred Qualifications

  • Rising 2L or 3L Law Student in Summer 2025

Compensation and Benefits

Columbia Legal Services offers a competitive compensation package, including a minimum of $7,500, and opportunities for professional development and growth.
