The Foster Care Licensing Coordinator plays a vital role in the recruitment, training, and licensing of foster homes. This position involves meticulous documentation management to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. The Coordinator will represent CCSWW within the community and collaborate closely with the Licensor, providing essential training to new foster families and serving as a liaison with various organizations.
Key ResponsibilitiesRecruitment of Foster Homes:
- Engage in proactive recruitment efforts and collaborate with the CCSWW team to devise effective strategies.
- Respond to inquiries from potential foster families through various channels and provide comprehensive follow-up.
- Participate in community events to promote the foster care program.
Training, Licensing, and Monitoring:
- Conduct home visits with the Licensor to evaluate prospective foster families' readiness to provide care.
- Develop licensing plans and risk assessments prior to initiating home studies.
- Facilitate pre-service and ongoing training sessions for foster parents.
- Guide families through the licensing process, ensuring all necessary documentation is collected and assessed.
- Perform annual Health and Safety visits to licensed homes to ensure compliance.
- Engage in community recruitment initiatives to expand the foster care network.
- Deliver presentations on foster care and licensing to diverse audiences.
Ongoing Support for Foster Parents:
- Organize continuing education opportunities for foster parents and keep them informed about external training options.
- Provide emergency support to foster parents as needed.
Liaison Responsibilities:
- Represent CCSWW at licensing meetings and maintain effective communication with other agencies.
- Foster positive relationships with colleagues from other child-placing agencies.
Record Management:
- Maintain accurate and organized foster care files in compliance with agency standards.
- Ensure the database of licensed foster homes is current and comprehensive.
- Prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
Team Collaboration:
- Participate in weekly staff meetings and collaborate with case managers on specific cases.
Additional Duties:
Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related field with two years of relevant experience.
- Agency Affiliated License (HIV/AIDS training required or to be obtained within the first month of employment).
- Successful completion of background checks prior to employment.
- Bilingual candidates (Spanish preferred) are encouraged to apply.
- Knowledge of family systems and the ability to assess foster care placements.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
- Commitment to fostering a culturally diverse workplace.
- Alignment with the mission and values of CCSWW.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in foster home licensing.
- Public speaking and teaching experience.
- Familiarity with Washington State child welfare regulations.
