Job Title: Foster Care Lead

Job Summary:

The Humane Society for Tacoma and Pierce County is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to lead our Foster Care Program. As a Foster Care Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the program, ensuring the welfare of foster animals, and providing exceptional customer service to our volunteers and community partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement program work plans, goals, and objectives.
  • Collaborate with shelter leads and veterinary staff to facilitate rehabilitation or maintenance for foster animals.
  • Recruit, train, and manage a team of volunteer foster families.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Coordinate foster animal care and disposition with foster care providers, veterinary team, and shelter leads.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to volunteers, community partners, and the public.
  • Manage program budget and supplies, maintain inventory.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in animal science, biology, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in animal welfare, customer service, and program management.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Valid Washington state driver's license and clean DMV record required.
