Job Title: Staff Accountant

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Accountant to join our team at Better Debt Solutions. As a Staff Accountant, you will play a vital role in our financial operations, performing essential accounting tasks, and contributing to the financial success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Reporting: Assist with the collection, analysis, verification, and reporting of financial information to document the company's financial performance and position.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist with the preparation of forecasts, requirements, draft annual budgets, and scrutinize expenditures to prepare periodic statements and meet financial regulatory requirements.
  • Cash Flow Management: Assist in preparing cash flows, treasury cash summaries, and preparation of monthly cash flow projections.
  • Financial Analysis: Assist with the preparation of budgets, KPI reports, financial forecasts, and ad-hoc financial reports for the executive leadership.
  • General Ledger Management: Prepare general ledger journal entries and account reconciliations for treasury, revenue, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, intercompany, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and accrued liabilities.
  • Financial Record Keeping: Maintain the subsidiary ledgers and other financial and accounting records.
  • Support to Operations: Support the operations department with monthly commissions calculations and ad-hoc financial tasks.
  • Compliance and Collaboration: Maintain compliance with all deliverables while upholding collaboration and accountability.
  • Ad-Hoc Assignments: Assist with finance ad-hoc assignments as needed.
Required Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting is required.
  • Experience: Total of 1-3 years of professional experience in a similar position.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills and availability to manage growth.
  • Teamwork: Forward thinking and a team player.
  • Accounting Knowledge: Strong understanding of accounting principles.
  • Attention to Detail: Detail-oriented with a flexible mindset.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Excel spreadsheets and formulation.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Big4 or Mid-Tier Experience: Big4, Mid-Tier experience is highly preferred but not required.
  • MBA in Accounting and Finance: MBA in accounting and finance is preferred but not required.
  • CPA License: CPA license is preferred but not required.
