Role Overview

As a Senior Accounting Associate at Hall CPA LLC, you will report directly to one of our Accounting Managers. Your primary responsibilities will include reviewing financial statements prepared by associates using QuickBooks and other accounting software. You will also communicate these financials to clients, who are primarily real estate investors and small business owners. In this role, you will provide expert advice on tax and accounting matters, mentor junior staff, and cultivate strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee a team of staff accountants to ensure high-quality and timely deliverables by removing obstacles, setting deadlines, managing workloads, and providing training and support.
  • Exhibit a solid understanding of accounting principles by reviewing staff accountants' work and offering constructive feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Prepare, review, and present accurate and timely financial statements, including dashboards, KPIs, and forecasts to clients while fostering strong client relationships.
  • Engage confidently with clients through video calls, phone conversations, or emails, addressing any concerns as they arise.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients regarding best practices in accounting and process development, and suggest additional firm services that may assist them in achieving their objectives.
  • Provide supplementary services to clients, including regular oversight meetings and ad-hoc reporting and analysis.
  • Facilitate smooth client onboarding by utilizing project management tools to ensure a satisfactory experience.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement within the firm and implement effective solutions through collaboration, technology, and automation.
  • At year-end, ensure a seamless transition of client records to the tax team for tax return preparation.

  • Client satisfaction ratings through Net Promoter Scores and feedback.

Remote Work Expectations

  • This is a remote position; however, adherence to standard working hours is expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting from an accredited institution.
  • 2-3 years of senior-level review experience, preferably with real estate and small business clients.
  • 1-2 years of experience leading a team of staff accountants to produce quality deliverables and foster a positive company culture.
  • Extensive knowledge of QuickBooks Online, Yardi, and other property management software.
  • Understanding of various entity types, structuring, and transactions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Suite.
  • Demonstrated success in managing client relationships and meeting engagement objectives accurately and on time.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with excellent interpersonal abilities.
  • Public accounting experience is preferred.
  • CPA certification is not required but will be compensated based on qualifications and experience.
