Position Summary
The Senior Accounting Specialist will be responsible for the preparation and maintenance of financial documentation to monitor the organization's assets, liabilities, income and expenses, tax obligations, and other related financial activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify the accuracy of entries in the general ledger and subsidiary accounts.
- Maintain comprehensive financial records for the organization.
- Prepare and record routine journal entries.
- Process payroll for associated business operations.
- Conduct cost and revenue analysis.
- Compile financial data for assessment and review.
- Perform moderately complex calculations using spreadsheet or software tools.
- Reconcile accounts and bank statements.
- Assist in the review of monthly sales tax transactions.
- Engage in special projects as required.
- Provide support and assistance to the Accounting team.
- Execute other duties as assigned.
- Fundamental understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
- Proficient in operating a 10-key calculator.
- Familiarity with accounting software.
- Experience with Excel, including the use of formulas, vlookup, and other common functions.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective verbal communication abilities.
Education and Experience
- Associate's degree in a relevant field, or 1-3 years of equivalent experience.
- Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks over extended periods.
- Majority of the work shift involves sitting at a desk in front of a computer.
- Must be able to communicate effectively via phone.
