Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System is seeking a skilled Anesthesia Technician to join our team. As an Anesthesia Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms. Your primary responsibility will be to assist anesthesiologists and certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs) by setting up equipment, ordering and stocking supplies, testing and maintaining anesthesia equipment, and washing and sterilizing reusable equipment. You will also be responsible for reporting any malfunctioning equipment to the appropriate personnel and troubleshooting issues as needed. In this role, you will work closely with our anesthesia team to provide high-quality patient care and ensure the safety of our patients. Your attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will be essential in this position. **Responsibilities:**

* **Anesthesia Support Preparation:**

\t* Provide support to anesthesia providers by ensuring that supplies, instruments, anesthetic agents, drug trays, monitors, anesthesia machines, and other equipment are available and properly functioning for patient care.
\t* Review anesthesia charge documents for completeness and accuracy and expediently correct errors or omissions.
\t* Operate blood recovery system (cell saver) in an efficient and aseptic manner, preparing units of blood for re-infusion by the anesthesia provider to the patient.

* **Quality & Patient Safety:**

\t* Troubleshoot and solve monitor and anesthesia machine problems to prevent patient injury, decrease prolonged anesthesia times, or prevent delays in cases.
\t* Assist with regular and difficult intubations whenever necessary and maintain fiberoptic equipment and supplies for difficult intubations.
\t* Gather all equipment and supplies for arterial monitoring lines, calibrate the monitor, and assist with insertions as necessary.
\t* Clean and disinfect instruments, monitors, anesthesia machines, and other equipment to prevent cross-contamination between patients and ensure the work area is kept neat, clean, orderly, and safe at all times.

* **Collaboration & Teamwork:**

\t* Assist nursing staff with retrieving medications and case drug bags, and place them in appropriate locations for administration by the nurse.

* **Other Duties as Assigned:**

\t* Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
