Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Anesthesiology Technician to join our team at Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System. The successful candidate will provide critical support to our anesthesia providers, ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms and the delivery of exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Anesthesia Support Preparation
    • Provide technical support to anesthesia providers by ensuring that all necessary equipment, supplies, and medications are available and functioning properly.
    • Review anesthesia charge documents for accuracy and completeness, and correct any errors or omissions in a timely manner.
    • Operate the blood recovery system (cell saver) with precision and attention to detail, preparing units of blood for re-infusion by the anesthesia provider.
  • Quality & Patient Safety
    • Troubleshoot and resolve monitor and anesthesia machine issues to prevent patient injury, reduce prolonged anesthesia times, and minimize delays in cases.
    • Assist with regular and difficult intubations as needed, and maintain fiberoptic equipment and supplies for difficult intubations.
    • Gather and set up equipment and supplies for arterial monitoring lines, calibrate the monitor, and assist with insertions as necessary.
    • Clean and disinfect instruments, monitors, anesthesia machines, and other equipment to prevent cross-contamination between patients and maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Collaboration & Teamwork
    • Assist nursing staff with retrieving medications and case drug bags, and place them in designated locations for administration by the nurse.
  • Other Duties As Assigned
    • Perform other duties as assigned or requested by management.
Qualifications
