Position Overview

Abacus is seeking a skilled Change and Release Manager to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless execution of technology releases, with a focus on enhancing release quality and operational efficiency.


Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with technology teams to establish and refine release management processes, including the development of comprehensive checklists and a RACI matrix to clarify roles and responsibilities.
  • Engage proactively with project teams to gain insights into upcoming releases, ensuring that all preparatory work is completed ahead of schedule.
  • Communicate release details effectively, including the creation of a release calendar and timely notifications regarding Go/No-Go decisions.
  • Facilitate meetings for major releases, ensuring all stakeholders are aligned and prepared for deployment.
  • Document and analyze post-release issues, tracking resolutions and identifying trends for continuous improvement.
  • Drive enhancements in release preparation and execution, working closely with technology teams to address any gaps in performance.
  • Establish key performance indicators for release management and report on progress to senior leadership.
  • Continuously improve the release management function at Abacus, prioritizing quality while optimizing delivery timelines.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a technology-focused organization.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a release management role or a similar capacity involving release oversight.
  • Proficiency in Agile methodologies and experience transitioning from Waterfall to Agile frameworks.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to navigate complex topics.
  • Familiarity with application and infrastructure technologies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Proven track record of fostering positive relationships with customers and team members.

Preferred Qualifications
  • ITIL certification.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow and JIRA for change and release management.
  • Knowledge of DevOps tools for deployment.
  • Hands-on experience with change and release deployments.
