Position Overview

The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) plays a pivotal role in enhancing patient care through the Synergy Model. This position involves:

Staff Development: Overseeing and assessing new staff members during their initial 90 to 180 days, ensuring they adapt effectively to the clinical environment.

Collaborative Care: Engaging in a multi-disciplinary approach to healthcare delivery, working within the nurse-patient, nurse-nurse, and nurse-system frameworks.

Quality Assurance: Promoting nursing excellence by implementing clinical practice standards and establishing competency benchmarks for nursing staff.

Clinical Expertise: Serving as a clinical resource, conducting patient care consultations, and providing insights on how practice impacts patient outcomes.

Team Support: Participating in clinical rounds with healthcare teams and fostering strong relationships with physicians to enhance collaborative care.

Qualifications Required:

  • Master's Degree from an accredited Clinical Nurse Specialist program.
  • Active Registered Nurse License.
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Specialty certification (e.g., CEN, CCRN).
  • A minimum of 3 years of Registered Nursing experience in the relevant specialty.
  • At least 2 years of Clinical Leadership experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CNS certification in the relevant specialty.
