Job Title: Advanced Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our team at the Municipality of Anchorage. As a key member of our public health team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and leading our efforts in reproductive health services.

Job Summary:

The Advanced Nurse Practitioner will provide direct patient care, oversee and mentor registered nurses and unlicensed assistive personnel, and participate in program administration activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in public health, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care, including reproductive health exams, contraceptive methods, and sexually transmitted infection evaluation and treatment.
  • Oversight and mentoring of registered nurses and unlicensed assistive personnel.
  • Participate in program administration activities, including outreach to the community and promotion of healthy life choices.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing and an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) License in Family Health, Women's Health, or Adult Health.
  • At least three years of experience in public or private nursing practice.
  • Valid State of Alaska Driver's License.
  • Current State of Alaska Registered Nurse License.
  • Current State of Alaska Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) License.
  • Current American Red Cross/American Heart Association Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification (CPR) or equivalent.
  • Satisfactory completion of a national criminal background investigation.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Nursing and an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) License in Family Practice, Women's Health, or Adult Health.
  • Experience working in a public health setting.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
