Logistics Operations Specialist

The role involves overseeing and delivering operational assistance within a centralized storage facility, encompassing all tasks associated with receiving, storing, issuing, distributing, and disposing of supplies and equipment, including hazardous materials. Key duties also involve transporting supplies, materials, and furniture to various locations, supporting office relocations, and managing Department of Defense (DoD) accountable equipment as instructed.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and guide warehouse personnel on diverse projects.
- Prepare requisition and turn-in documentation along with receiving reports.
- Monitor and confirm the receipt of equipment for payment processing.
- Issue and recover temporary hand receipts as necessary.
- Utilize mobile scanning devices for tracking supplies and equipment within DoD accountability systems.
- Maintain comprehensive supporting document files.
- Prepare maintenance requests and manage suspense files.
- Conduct independent and directed inventories of equipment, materials, and consumable supplies.
- Manage property inventories and perform stock level inspections as directed.
- Prepare supplies and materials for shipment, including packing and palletizing.
- Receive and deliver supplies and equipment as required.
- Process acceptance and receipt of materials using warehouse security equipment.
- Transport equipment, supplies, and materials to and from the warehouse and other facilities.
- Operate warehouse vehicles and equipment, including cargo trucks and forklifts.
- Provide setup and breakdown support for events.
- Collect and transport recyclable items to designated facilities.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance checks on vehicles and warehouse equipment.
- Manage the maintenance and servicing of leased vehicles.
- Refuel and clean vehicles supporting warehouse operations.
- Conduct office and building relocations as needed.
- Execute all other warehouse duties as assigned by the U.S. Government.
- Minimum Requirements:
- Education and Experience: One year of relevant experience may substitute for one year of education, if a degree is required.
- A high school diploma is mandatory.
- Experience:
- A minimum of four years of related work experience along with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Certifications:
- Possession of a valid U.S. Driver's license is essential.
- A valid commercial driver's license (CDL) is required; CDL-A endorsement is preferred, while CDL-B endorsement is desired.
- Certification to operate a 3K forklift is preferred.
- Skills:
- Proficiency with mobile scanning devices.
- Familiarity with Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS).
- Knowledge of Financial Accounting and Corporate Tracking System (FACTS).
- Working Environment:
- U.S. citizenship is a requirement.
- Ability to work in an operationally sensitive environment.
- Capable of working indoors and outdoors, in confined spaces, and on irregular schedules.
- Experience operating motor vehicles in various conditions.
- Ability to work in a noisy environment and under unusual lighting conditions.
- Compliance with safety protocols, including the use of protective gear.
- Competence in operating standard office equipment.
- Functionality in both office and warehouse settings, often in a stationary position.
