The role involves overseeing and facilitating the operational activities of a centralized storage facility, encompassing all tasks related to the reception, storage, issuance, distribution, and disposal of supplies and equipment, including hazardous materials (e.g., printer toner, batteries, compressed gases, 1.4-class arms ammunition). Additional duties include transporting supplies, materials, and furniture to various locations, assisting with office relocations, and managing Department of Defense (DoD) accountable equipment as directed.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and guide warehouse personnel on diverse projects.
- Prepare requisition and turn-in documentation along with receiving reports.
- Monitor and confirm the receipt of equipment for billing purposes.
- Issue and recover temporary hand receipts.
- Utilize mobile scanning devices for tracking supplies and equipment within DoD accountability systems (DPAS, FACTS, etc.).
- Maintain organized documentation files.
- Prepare maintenance requests and manage suspense files.
- Conduct independent and directed inventories of equipment, materials, and consumable supplies.
- Manage property inventories and conduct stock level inspections as instructed.
- Prepare materials for shipment, including packing, marking, and palletizing.
- Receive and deliver supplies and equipment as required.
- Process acceptance and receipt of materials using specialized warehouse force protection equipment.
- Transport equipment, supplies, and materials (including furniture) to and from the warehouse and other facilities as needed.
- Operate warehouse vehicles and equipment, including cargo trucks, tractor-trailers, pallet jacks, and forklifts.
- Provide setup and breakdown support for events.
- Collect and transport recyclable items to designated facilities.
- Perform preventive maintenance checks on leased vehicles and warehouse equipment.
- Manage the maintenance, service, and repair of leased vehicles.
- Refuel and clean vehicles supporting warehouse operations.
- Conduct office and building relocations as required.
- Execute additional warehouse duties as assigned by the U.S. Government.
- Minimum Qualifications:
- Education and Experience: One year of relevant experience may substitute for one year of education if a degree is required.
- Possession of a high school diploma.
- Experience:
- Four years of relevant work experience along with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Certifications:
- Valid U.S. Driver's license (REQUIRED).
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL); CDL-A endorsement DESIRED; CDL-B endorsement PREFERRED.
- Trained and certified to operate a minimum 3K forklift (PREFERRED).
- Skills:
- Proficiency with Mobile Scanning Devices.
- Knowledge of Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS).
- Familiarity with Financial Accounting and Corporate Tracking System (FACTS).
- Working Environment:
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Work in a sensitive operational environment.
- Work both indoors and outdoors, in confined spaces, with irregular schedules, and rotating shifts.
- Ability to operate motor vehicles and work in noisy environments.
- Use of personal protective equipment as required.
- Operate standard office equipment, including computers and printers.
- Function in both office and warehouse settings, often in a stationary position for extended periods.
