Position Overview: The individual in this role will be accountable for the assembly, connection, and construction of piping systems for stormwater or wastewater management, drainage, and potable water distribution. This includes preparing the ground and excavating trenches for pipe placement. The technician will align pipes and secure joints using adhesives or cement. Effective communication with the foreman or supervisor is essential, as is the ability to manage the workflow efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
- Identify various types of pipes and fittings.
- Understand and execute proper connection techniques for different pipe types.
- Utilize hand tools effectively for pipe installation tasks.
- Familiarity with adhesives and lubricants used in pipe work.
- Cut pipes to precise lengths and angles as required.
- Interpret blueprints to determine pipe locations and elevations.
- Set pipe lasers accurately to calculate slope percentages.
- Operate tapping machines competently.
- Employ transit levels to establish straight pipelines and verify elevations.
- Possess knowledge of pipe repair and replacement methods.
- Endure physically demanding labor as part of daily tasks.
- Report any issues or safety concerns to the foreman or designated crew leader.
- Maintain a safe working environment in accordance with OSHA standards and company safety policies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
Heavy Work: Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds regularly, including the frequent lifting and carrying of materials and equipment.
Work Environment:
Moderate Exposure: May encounter extreme weather conditions (temperature variations, noise, fumes, dust, etc.) and will be exposed to outdoor elements.
Noise levels in the work environment are typically high.
Salary Range: $26 - $32 per hour
