About the Role

The Chief Commercial Officer will play a key role in driving the commercial strategy and growth of Ardagh Group. This position will be responsible for developing and executing the overall commercial plan and strategy for the business, working closely with the executive leadership team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute the overall commercial plan and strategy for the business.
  • Participate in company-wide governance decisions and contribute to the development of the company's long-range plan (LRP) and annual budgets.
  • Coordinate market activities with the Group Commercial Committee across various regions.
  • Develop and maintain a broad understanding of the markets, including demand and competitive landscape.
  • Monitor inventory turnover and develop action plans to achieve planned objectives.
  • Approve contracts and pricing with customers in line with the company's objectives.
  • Manage, coach, mentor, and train direct reports to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their roles.
  • Work with the team to identify and target customers and products to meet company sales objectives for growth, margin improvement, or discontinuation of supply.
  • Maintain timely communication of customer problems or potential problems to sales management and recommend corrective action.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field.
  • Fifteen (15) years of outside sales experience.
  • Effective planning and organizational skills, detail-oriented.
  • Ability to analyze data and make recommendations.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and interact with people at all levels of the organization, including internal and external customers.
  • Ability to identify problems and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Ability to travel up to 75%.
