WFYI Metropolitan Indianapolis Public Media, Inc. is seeking a dynamic and strategic Chief Development & Marketing Officer (CDMO) to lead its fundraising and marketing initiatives.

As a prominent public media organization, WFYI is dedicated to delivering high-quality programming and fostering community engagement through impactful storytelling and educational content.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The CDMO will:

  • Oversee the development and execution of a comprehensive fundraising strategy aimed at enhancing financial support and organizational sustainability.
  • Drive donor engagement and revenue growth by leveraging existing relationships and employing innovative outreach methods.
  • Collaborate closely with the Executive Leadership Team to promote WFYI's mission and strategic objectives.
  • Inspire and guide the Board of Directors in their fundraising efforts and community engagement.
  • Manage relationships with major donors, including corporations, foundations, and individual supporters.
  • Lead and mentor a team of 15 professionals, fostering a culture of accountability and results-oriented performance.
  • Engage with the broader Indianapolis community and public broadcasting sector to enhance visibility and support.
  • Enhance fundraising efforts through effective marketing strategies, including events, communications, and digital outreach.
  • Provide operational leadership, including budget management, reporting, and recruitment processes.
  • Utilize data analytics to optimize fundraising and marketing strategies.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills for public engagement and internal collaboration.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Bachelor's degree is required; an advanced degree in non-profit management, business, marketing, or a related field is preferred.
  • A passion for public media and a commitment to community service.
  • Integrity and a dedication to diversity and inclusion.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Experience in operational management, including fiscal oversight.
  • Proven track record in mentoring and developing staff.

FUNDRAISING EXPERIENCE

  • At least 8 years of experience in non-profit fundraising with a successful history of generating significant revenue.
  • Demonstrated leadership in executing successful fundraising campaigns.
  • Expertise in developing and implementing strategic fundraising plans.
  • Experience in proposal writing, project management, and donor stewardship.
  • Ability to adapt and collaborate with diverse stakeholders while maintaining strong organizational skills.
