Position Overview:

Are you interested in contributing to the welfare of Arizona residents? We are currently seeking a motivated individual to fill the role of Financial Analyst 1 within the Finance & Business Operations Administration (FBOA). This role is pivotal in interpreting intricate financial information, generating financial forecasts, and formulating budget estimates while ensuring clarity in communication.

Key Responsibilities:

The essential duties for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Financial Services Administration (FSA) and designated areas, offering expert guidance and support.
  • Participate in both formal and informal meetings to maintain comprehensive knowledge of assigned programs and facilitate effective communication with relevant personnel.
  • Conduct research and analysis on expenditure and revenue trends to prepare fiscal reports and forecasts.
  • Assess funding requirements for assigned programs and initiate necessary financial transactions.
  • Investigate and evaluate the potential impacts of proposed federal and state legislation, policy changes, or funding adjustments.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A strong understanding of governmental accounting and fiscal principles.
  • Expertise in fiscal management and budgetary oversight.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • The capacity to grasp and apply complex concepts, policies, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of relevant federal and state laws, regulations, and policies.

Preferred Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration with a focus on accounting, finance, or economics from an accredited institution is preferred.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

All candidates must successfully complete background and reference checks. Additionally, participation in the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify) is mandatory for newly hired state employees.
