Position Overview

We are seeking a Charge Nurse to take on a pivotal role at Carespring. This position involves assisting the Nursing Supervisor in overseeing comprehensive patient care within the nursing unit and managing unit operations effectively.

Compensation: $28 to $40 per hour plus shift differentials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administrative duties and direct patient care
  • Supervising and mentoring nursing assistants
  • Ensuring compliance with departmental policies among staff, patients, and visitors
  • Working within the designated unit as directed by nursing leadership
  • Reviewing 24-hour report sheets for updates on patient care requirements
  • Conducting rounds and supervising nursing assistant activities
  • Administering medications and treatments as per physician directives
  • Addressing the spiritual and psychological needs of patients with available resources
  • Facilitating patient admission and discharge processes
  • Exchanging reports with incoming staff during shift changes
  • Transcribing physician orders accurately
  • Responding to telephone inquiries
  • Assessing patient care needs and enhancing individual care plans
  • Managing patient admissions in the absence of the documentation nurse, including:
    • Verifying physician orders
    • Transcribing pre-admission details
    • Coordinating diagnostic and therapeutic services
    • Ordering necessary medications and treatments
    • Communicating dietary needs
    • Completing required admission documentation
  • Coordinating patient transfers and discharges, including:
    • Arranging transportation
    • Communicating with family members or responsible parties
    • Finalizing appropriate paperwork
  • Maintaining accurate documentation in the electronic medical record system
  • Overseeing and assisting with the cleaning and maintenance of equipment
  • Facilitating communication across all departments
  • Ensuring the overall safety and cleanliness of the unit
  • Welcoming and directing visitors to the unit

Qualifications:

  • Valid nursing license in the state of Ohio
  • Completion of required continuing education hours
  • Good physical and mental health
  • Positive attitude and a commitment to elderly care
  • Willingness to undertake non-professional duties as needed
  • Ability to remain calm and provide direction in emergencies
  • Dedication to prioritizing patient needs
  • Advocacy for patient well-being
