Lead Registered Nurse

We are seeking a Charge Nurse at Carespring. In this role, you will support the Nursing supervisor in overseeing comprehensive patient care within the nursing unit and managing unit operations.
Compensation: $28 to $40 per hour plus shift differentials (based on experience and licensure)
Schedule: Every other weekend required
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage administrative tasks and patient care
- Supervise and guide STNA staff
- Ensure compliance with departmental policies among personnel, medical staff, patients, and visitors
- Work on the designated unit as assigned by the Director of Nursing or Supervisor
- Review the 24-hour report sheet for updates in patient care requirements
- Conduct rounds to supervise nursing assistant care
- Administer medications (including IV) and treatments as per physician directives
- Address the spiritual and psychological needs of patients with available resources
- Assist in directing the patient admission and discharge processes
- Facilitate communication between incoming and outgoing staff during shift changes
- Process and transcribe physician orders
- Handle telephone inquiries
- Assess patient care needs and enhance individual care plans
- Manage patient admissions in the absence of the documentation nurse, including:
- Verifying physician orders
- Transcribing pre-admission information
- Coordinating diagnostic and therapeutic needs
- Ordering medications and treatments
- Communicating dietary needs
- Completing necessary admission documentation
- Coordinate patient transfers and discharges, including:
- Arranging transportation
- Communicating with family or responsible parties
- Completing required paperwork
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record
- Oversee cleaning and maintenance of equipment and appliances
- Facilitate communication across all departments
- Ensure the overall safety and cleanliness of the unit
- Welcome and direct visitors to the unit
Qualifications:
- Valid nursing license in the state of Ohio
- Completion of required continuing education hours
- Good physical and mental health
- Positive attitude and passion for working with the elderly
- Willingness to perform non-professional duties as needed
- Ability to remain calm and provide direction in emergencies
- Commitment to prioritizing patient needs
