Position Overview

We are seeking a Charge Nurse to take on a pivotal role within our organization. In this position, you will support the Nursing Supervisor in overseeing comprehensive patient care within the nursing unit and managing unit operations effectively.

Compensation: $28 to $40 Per Hour (based on LPN/RN licensure and experience)
Additional Benefits: Shift differentials for evening and weekend shifts

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee administrative and patient care functions
  • Supervise and guide STNA staff
  • Ensure compliance with departmental policies among personnel, medical staff, patients, and visitors
  • Work within the unit as designated by the Director of Nursing or Supervisor
  • Review 24-hour report sheets for updates in patient care requirements
  • Conduct walking rounds and supervise nursing assistant care
  • Administer medications (including IV) and treatments as per physician's directives
  • Address the spiritual and psychological needs of patients with available resources
  • Facilitate and manage the patient admission and discharge processes
  • Exchange reports with incoming staff at shift changes
  • Take and transcribe physician orders
  • Respond to telephone inquiries
  • Assess patient care needs and conditions while developing and updating individual care plans
  • Manage patient admissions in the absence of the documentation nurse, including verifying physician orders and arranging necessary diagnostic and therapeutic services
  • Coordinate patient transfers and discharges, including transportation arrangements and communication with families
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record
  • Guide and assist with the cleaning and maintenance of equipment
  • Communicate effectively with all departments
  • Ensure the overall safety and cleanliness of the unit
  • Welcome and direct visitors to the unit
Qualifications:
  • Valid nursing license in the state of Ohio
  • Completion of required continuing education hours
  • Good physical and mental health
  • Positive attitude and a passion for elderly care
  • Willingness to perform non-professional duties as needed
  • Ability to remain calm and take direction in emergency situations
  • Commitment to prioritizing patient needs
