Culinary Operations Manager

About Immigrant Food+
">We are a new concept in Washington, DC offering an exciting opportunity for a skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team. Our menu is created by award-winning Executive Chef Enrique Limardo and Chef Mile Montezuma.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily operation of our kitchen, supervising hourly associates, and working with the Executive Chef/Chef to develop new menus and assist with ordering.
">Responsibilities:
">- Supervise the preparation and execution of various menu items
- Assist the Chef team with planning and creating menus
- Anticipate ingredient needs and arrange re-stock accordingly
- Ensure a productive kitchen flow that upholds business standards
- Manage cost controls and control expenditures for the account
- Produce and execute catering events
- Roll out new culinary programs in conjunction with Company marketing and culinary team
- Produce high quality plates both design and taste wise
- Ensure that the kitchen operates in a timely way that meets our quality standards
Requirements:
">- Experience working as a sous chef or chef
- High familiarity with kitchen equipment, processes, and health and safety guidelines
- Able to delegate tasks effectively and assist when needed
- Accuracy and speed in handling emergency situations and providing solutions
- Adaptable to high traffic and kitchen volume
- Catering experience a plus
- Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
- Must be experienced with computers; to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), Outlook, E-mail and the Internet
- Estimated salary: $65,000 - $85,000 per year
