The Patient Access Coordinator position serves as a crucial first point of contact for patients seeking information and scheduling appointments, as well as documenting patient communications. This role demands outstanding verbal communication and customer service skills. Responsibilities include managing inbound calls from patients, healthcare providers, and outpatient facilities. The Patient Access Coordinator is integral to the success of Lee Health, as their interactions with patients directly influence revenue, repeat visits, and overall patient satisfaction. Therefore, ensuring accuracy and providing excellent customer service is essential. The individual in this role must be dedicated to delivering top-notch service and an exceptional patient experience.

Responsibilities

The Patient Access Coordinator will utilize our practice management system to facilitate access to care through registration, scheduling, and documentation of patient communications for over 300 providers and more than 1100 different procedure and appointment types. This position also involves addressing a variety of customer inquiries and utilizing appropriate resources to provide accurate responses. In addition to managing inbound calls, this role may require making outbound calls to patients as directed by physicians to schedule outpatient procedures or office visits. The ideal candidate must thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and flexibility. A commitment to learning and growing within the department is essential.
