Job Summary
  • We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Sheet Metal BIM Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial HVAC projects, with experience in developing detailed drawings and ensuring accuracy, cost-effectiveness, and timeliness in their work.
  • As a Senior Sheet Metal BIM Coordinator, you will be responsible for developing detailed drawings in accordance with our company's Duct Standards, ensuring that the work is implemented effectively within cost, schedule, and accuracy parameters.
  • You will also be responsible for working in conformity with company Pipe and Duct CAD Standards and detailing practices, participating in the improvement of company's Pipe and Duct CAD Standards and detailing practices, and possessing a working knowledge and ability to use software platforms required to produce accurate production-level drawings.
  • In addition, you will be responsible for establishing drawings and document formats required to complete job, understanding and complying with job-specific scope and requirements, generating concise Request For Information (RFIs) or field questions when questions or discrepancies arise on contract drawings or specifications, verifying that all drawings are complete to a constructible state, and consistently reviewing shop drawings to ensure quality and accuracy prior to distribution to the field.
  • You will also be responsible for communicating with Project Supervision to determine detailing scope, assisting project staff with drawing requirements and priorities, participating in project coordination efforts, and coordinating changes into drawings.
  • Furthermore, you will be responsible for communicating effectively and keeping open lines of communication with the BIM/VDC Manager and Sheet Metal Field Team, communicating any outstanding job or departmental issues with the BIM/VDC Manager, and participating in department meetings and communicating ideas for improvement.
Requirements
  • An undergraduate degree in design/drafting or equivalent work experience is required.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of work experience in commercial HVAC is required.
  • Proficiency with software tools including AutoCAD, Navisworks, MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and other related 3D detailing software tools is required.
  • Demonstrates and displays honesty, integrity, and personal accountability.
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment is required.
  • Ability to interface with construction industry professionals with professionalism and credibility is required.
  • Must be able to walk, stand, sit, stoop, kneel, climb stairs, reach overhead, push, pull, lift, and carry up to 10 lbs., must have dexterity of fingers (or mechanical substitutions).
  • Comply with all B&I safety procedures.
  • Drug test, background check, and a clean driving record are pre-employment requirements.
Salary

The estimated salary for this position is $80,000 - $110,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
