Job OverviewPosition Summary

The Event Service Attendant is responsible for the meticulous setup and execution of various banquet functions. This includes arranging tables, chairs, stages, dance floors, and audio/visual equipment while upholding a high standard of professionalism. The role requires maintaining all equipment and facilities in a clean, organized, and safe manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver an enjoyable, friendly, and helpful experience to all guests.
  • Review Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) at the start of each shift to ensure rooms are prepared as per contract specifications. Confirm and set up A/V equipment as required for the event.
  • Prepare venues for use by adjusting lighting, sound levels, and temperature before guests arrive.
  • Collaborate effectively as a team player and be open to cross-training as directed by management.
  • Exhibit knowledge of proper food presentation, including handling, garnishing, and serving of all food items.
  • Adhere to departmental and Casino policies and procedures.
  • Follow all rules and regulations as outlined in the employee handbook.
  • Operate and maintain cleanliness of various equipment used for food preparation and service.
  • Keep workstations and inventory well-stocked and organized, completing side tasks as assigned by supervisors.
  • Ensure proper serving techniques and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide timely service, coordinating efforts with back-of-house staff and fellow team members.
  • Assist in cleaning and resetting tables as needed.
  • Maintain a well-stocked, clean, and prepared work area for shifts.
  • Prepare condiments and beverages as required.
  • Stay informed about Casino and departmental promotions, programs, and services.
  • Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of all departmental outlets in accordance with established standards.
  • Follow directions from the leadership team consistently.
  • Work safely and report any unsafe conditions to supervisors or take personal responsibility when supervisors are unavailable.
  • Assist in planning events, preparing, and cleaning up after events, serving guests, and addressing questions, complaints, and special requests.
  • Greet guests upon arrival and assist them in finding their seats.
  • Support fellow team members to enhance guest satisfaction.
  • Help with the complete setup and breakdown of banquet areas.
  • Maintain a regular and reliable work schedule in line with business needs, ensuring consistent attendance.
  • May be required to drive company vehicles to transport equipment as necessary.
  • Engage in special projects and other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous experience in food and beverage or guest service is preferred.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interact tactfully and diplomatically with staff while prioritizing guest service.
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Any combination of education, experience, and training that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Must provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid gaming commission license.
  • Must pass all required drug and alcohol tests.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a food handler's card within seven days of hire.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain TIPS certification.
  • Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification is preferred or must be obtained within 60 days of hire.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are preferred but not required unless driving is necessary.
