KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Cultivate and maintain customer relationships within a collaborative sales framework.
  • Oversee product deliveries according to the logistics schedule provided by the transportation team; address any issues that arise during the order fulfillment process (e.g., delivery errors, shortages, inventory shortages).
  • Communicate and manage accounts receivable as needed, collaborating with the credit department and clients; ensure all outstanding balances are collected in accordance with established credit terms.
  • Utilize additional resources to maximize market penetration and facilitate the opening of new accounts.
  • Generate new business opportunities; identify potential clients through market intelligence tools, business directories, referrals from current clients, participation in industry organizations, and attendance at trade shows and conferences.
  • Stay informed about market trends, product advancements, and competitor offerings; share valuable insights with clients as part of the service provided.
  • Travel to current and prospective clients to ensure timely product delivery, which may involve lifting and carrying items weighing up to 75lbs.
The anticipated salary range for this position is between $54,900 and $70,000.

COLLABORATIVE RELATIONSHIPS

District Sales Manager, Regional Sales Manager, VP of Local Sales, Accounting/Credit Department, Merchandising and Marketing, Operations, and Customer Contact.


External:
Customers, vendors, potential clients.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Primarily operates outside the office environment, engaging with clients in varying weather and temperature conditions.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • At least 1 year of sales experience is preferred.
  • Experience in the foodservice industry, culinary arts, restaurant management, or hospitality is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with effective presentation abilities.
  • Ability to foster internal and external relationships and conduct cold calls to generate new business.
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • A competitive spirit and results-oriented mindset.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and negotiation skills.
  • A collaborative approach to working with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficient in computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office; experience with Customer Relationship Management tools (e.g., Salesforce) is preferred.
