Domtar is looking for a dedicated Intern to support our Human Resources department.

The HR intern will play a vital role in assisting the Human Resources team with various initiatives, including but not limited to policy development, early career engagement, and performance management strategies. This internship aims to provide both educational and hands-on experience. The intern will have the opportunity to apply academic knowledge in a real-world environment, gaining insights into the essential functions of Human Resources in a corporate setting. You will participate in departmental projects and team discussions, enhancing your understanding of HR's contribution to organizational success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage with key stakeholders regarding the progress of assigned tasks and any updates to timelines.
  • Maintain professionalism in all interactions, fostering positive relationships and effective communication.
  • Adhere to all applicable state and federal regulations, including a foundational understanding of FLSA, FMLA, ADA, and OSHA.
  • Complete additional related tasks as required.
Essential Skills:
  • Knowledge of Human Resources Management principles.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Capability to uphold and enforce company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively; skilled in planning and organization.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Collaborative mindset, with the ability to work with diverse teams across various organizational levels.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Enrollment in an accredited academic program or recent graduation, preferably in Human Resources Management, Labor Relations, General Business, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
