Position Summary:

As a Proposal Cost Estimator, you will collaborate with various teams to produce accurate and high-quality cost estimates for our Avionics products. Your leadership will be vital in steering the proposal process, ensuring that all inputs are effectively coordinated. This role requires exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, along with a keen attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Program Management, Pricing, Manufacturing, and Commercial Operations, to deliver timely bid responses.
  • Become a subject matter expert in the proposal capture process and provide guidance and training to engineering teams.
  • Address RFI and RFP inquiries as well as internal cost estimates.
  • Develop compliance matrices and proposal frameworks based on client specifications.
  • Coordinate resources for estimate generation and assist in preparing the basis of estimate (BOE).
  • Ensure compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) during the estimation process.
  • Support negotiations and prepare final proposal documentation as necessary.
  • Collect relevant artifacts and generate an Engineering Bill of Material as required.
  • Review cost estimates, schedules, risks, and assumptions for accuracy and improvement opportunities.
  • Conduct Engineering approval meetings in line with internal protocols.
  • Create comprehensive proposal deliverable reports for inclusion in the pricing volume.
Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizenship is required due to government contract restrictions.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or a high school diploma with 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Successful completion of a drug screen may be required.
Eligibility Requirements:
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is mandatory.
  • This role requires access to technical data subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions.
  • Successful completion of a drug screen may be required.
Desired Skills:
  • In-depth knowledge of Avionics products and engineering development processes.
  • Proven ability to lead teams effectively in proposal development.
  • Experience with ProPricer software for proposal generation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create pivot tables.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Familiarity with proposal development methodologies.
  • Understanding of Lean principles to enhance the proposal process.
