Position Details:


As a Cost Estimation Specialist, you will collaborate with diverse teams to facilitate the bid and proposal process, ensuring high-quality outputs. Your expertise will be essential in coordinating inputs from various departments.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Program Management, and Pricing, to develop timely and accurate bid responses.
  • Become a subject matter expert in the estimation tools and provide guidance to engineering teams.
  • Respond to Requests for Information (RFI) and Requests for Proposals (RFP) while ensuring compliance with customer requirements.
  • Develop compliance matrices and proposal structures to align with project specifications.
  • Assist in the preparation of the Basis of Estimate (BOE) and ensure adherence to Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) compliance.
  • Support negotiations and finalize proposal documentation as necessary.
  • Review cost estimates, schedules, and risks to enhance accuracy and completeness.
  • Conduct approval meetings in line with internal protocols.
  • Create comprehensive proposal deliverables for pricing volumes.

Qualifications:


U.S. Citizenship is required due to government contract restrictions.


A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or a high school diploma with relevant experience is necessary.


Successful candidates will demonstrate strong leadership abilities and a thorough understanding of Avionics products and engineering processes.


Desired Skills:
  • Proficiency in proposal development methodologies, including familiarity with the Shipley method.
  • Experience with ProPricer software for government pricing.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, particularly in creating pivot tables.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of Lean principles to drive continuous improvement in proposal processes.
