Job Title: Direct Support Professional Weekend

At Andrus Childrens Center, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our team on a part-time weekend schedule. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe, predictable, and therapeutic living environment for children in our care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of each resident and the cottage community
  • Supervise residents at all times, based on their age and level, to prevent harm
  • Participate in scheduled activities with residents to promote engagement and socialization
  • Enact the program schedule as written and on time to maintain a structured environment
  • Utilize Sanctuary and trauma-sensitive care principles to provide high-quality support
  • Apply techniques of Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) to prevent and manage crises
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care and support

Requirements:

  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred (in-service trainings are mandatory)
  • Minimum of HS diploma (or equivalent) plus one year of experience working with children or adults with developmental or behavioral disabilities
  • Computer proficiency and ability to navigate Microsoft Office suite
  • Multi-lingual a plus
  • Driver's license preferred
  • Ability to access and utilize ADP app on smartphone or other device for access to agency programs

Physical/Travel Requirements:

  • Lift, reach, walk, climb stairs, bend
  • Candidates who are successfully hired, must participate in our Therapeutic Crisis Intervention training which concludes with a written and verbal test
