The Human Trafficking Navigator collaborates with various community organizations to assist individuals at risk of human trafficking in securing stable employment. This role involves creating personalized pathways and experiences to guide participants through workforce center processes, thereby enhancing their chances of obtaining and sustaining employment.
Key Responsibilities:Employer Engagement:
- Identify and recruit employers to establish partnerships, including agreements for Work Experience and Subsidized Employment.
- Evaluate job seeker qualifications before making referrals to potential employment opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with wage standards that promote self-sufficiency.
- Conduct site evaluations prior to forming worksite partnerships.
- Facilitate job placements for participants facing barriers such as limited skills or criminal records.
- Provide ongoing support to both job seekers and employers through regular site visits.
- Assist participants in transitioning from work experience roles to unsubsidized employment.
Case Management Duties:
- Assess eligibility based on local, state, and federal guidelines to optimize program funding utilization.
- Maintain accurate documentation of eligibility and monitor participant progress throughout their engagement.
- Conduct interviews to gather comprehensive information on job seekers’ backgrounds, skills, and employment aspirations.
- Provide up-to-date labor market insights and information on hiring events.
- Utilize assessments to formulate realistic career pathways for participants.
- Offer job search assistance and referrals during each interaction.
- Connect job seekers with additional supportive services available within the program.
- Encourage educational and training opportunities to enhance participants' skill sets.
- Foster a collaborative relationship with job seekers to achieve desired case management outcomes.
- Ensure job seekers maintain complete profiles in workforce data management systems.
- Assist in crafting employer-ready resumes for job seekers.
- Leverage technology for virtual services and documentation.
- Monitor and track performance metrics related to employment and training outcomes.
- Ensure timely and accurate data entry in compliance with program regulations.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience in workforce development or public relations.
- Experience in a supervisory or management role is required.
- Knowledge of workforce development programs and economic trends is preferred.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills are essential.
- Ability to analyze data and provide actionable insights.
- Proficiency in facilitating training sessions for diverse groups.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Role may require extensive standing, sitting, and desk work, with occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds. Travel within the designated area may be necessary.
