- Problem-Solving and Quality Assurance: Resolve issues that arise during the detailing process, such as adapting designs to fit site conditions or coordinating with other trades to avoid clashes, while maintaining the highest standards of quality and accuracy.
Requirements:
- Education: A degree in Architectural Technology, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: At least 5-7 years of experience in detailing or a related role within the construction industry, with a focus on Division 8 components.
- Skills: Strong understanding of Division 8 materials, hardware, building codes, and industry standards (e.g., ADA requirements, fire ratings). Certification from the Door and Hardware Institute (DHI) as an Architectural Hardware Consultant (AHC) or Certified Door Consultant (CDC) desired.
Competencies:
- Attention to Detail: Ability to produce highly accurate drawings with precise measurements and specifications, minimizing errors that could lead to costly construction issues.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze complex architectural plans and identify potential issues or conflicts with the Division 8 scope of work.
- Communication and Collaboration: Strong ability to work closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and fabricators to ensure that the designs are feasible and align with the overall project goals.
- Project Management Skills: Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines, even when working on multiple projects simultaneously.
