Job Summary:

The Part-Time Youth Advocate will provide advocacy services to a caseload of 2-6 youth, including connecting with youth, providing resources and mentorship, and representing youth in court hearings. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the dependency and juvenile justice systems, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and remotely.

Responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain relationships with youth, providing emotional support and guidance
  • Connect youth with community resources and services to meet their needs
  • Represent youth in court hearings and meetings, advocating for their best interests
  • Complete monthly reports and CASA Connect information by the 5th of each month
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a social service-related field or equivalent experience
  • At least 1 year of experience working with youth in education, advocacy, tutoring, mentorship, or childcare
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Valid California driver's license and ability to travel throughout the state
What We Offer:

CASA of San Mateo County offers a competitive hourly rate of $35/hour, with an estimated 20-60 hours per month. This is a part-time, temporary position that is ineligible for benefits. We are an equal opportunity employer and welcome applications from diverse candidates.
