Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced basketball professional to join our team as our Head of Basketball Coaching and Operations. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of coaching standards, fostering positive relationships with athletes and their families, and ensuring the smooth operation of our programs and events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure quality control and adherence to our coaching standards
  • Represent the company at games and events, embodying our values and culture
  • Provide support and guidance to coaches during games and events
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with parents, addressing their concerns and ensuring their satisfaction
  • Manage program managers and ensure programs operate effectively
  • Set clear performance expectations for coaches and staff
  • Provide regular feedback and coaching to support staff's development
  • Conduct performance evaluations and address any performance issues
  • Serve as a player-coach, stepping in to coach or assist with games and practices as needed
  • Act as a liaison between coaches, staff, parents, and players, facilitating effective communication in written and verbal form
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment
  • Collaborate with the leadership team on strategic initiatives
  • Assist with the implementation and maintenance of operational processes
  • Identify areas for improvement and streamline workflows

Work Environment & Expectations:

You will work in a sports facility the majority of the time, wearing athletic, basketball-related attire. You will spend a portion of time on the court, coaching, training, and actively participating in basketball drills. Candidates should be capable of engaging in on-court activities as needed. You will work many Saturdays and Sundays at programs and events, and traveling will be required.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in coaching or managing youth basketball programs
  • 2+ years of experience in leading and managing people
  • 2+ years of experience in project and event management
  • 2+ years of experience in customer service and support
  • Strong understanding of basketball fundamentals and coaching techniques
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with various stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Google Suite or similar office productivity tools
