Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a liaison between production, other ESPN departments, and outside entities to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Manage time-sensitive materials and decisions, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines and ensure project success.
  • Facilitate contractual agreements, including Master Services Agreements, Third Party Licensing Agreements, and Deal Memos, to support production needs.
  • Draft third-party licensing agreements for video and photography clearances, performance contracts, and voiceover and on-camera talent agreements, ensuring compliance with ESPN's legal standards.
  • Gather and curate production information to track content and report pertinent details to internal groups, such as rights and clearances.
  • Work closely with Managing Producers, Coordinating Producers, and departmental VP to ensure compliance with internal policies related to feature and creative productions.
  • Coordinate insurance and contractual compliance for third-party vendors, collaborating with Disney Risk Management and Legal standards.
  • Develop workflows to create efficiencies in a fast-paced, remote-hybrid production environment.
  • Coordinate logistics for on-location shoots, including insurance, props, waivers, permits, releases, production schedules, wardrobe, and other details, ensuring compliance with Disney health and safety guidelines.
  • Organize, project, and track budgets for projects of varying scale, from single features to full documentary series.
  • Handle and relay sensitive or confidential information, including budgetary, fee-related, and non-disclosure agreements.
  • Facilitate onboarding of third-party vendors, ensuring they are active in the system and able to work for Disney.
  • Schedule approved third-party vendors in Playbook to track work history and confirm payment.
  • Submit invoices and track correspondence related to budgets.
  • Act as a liaison for drone approvals, ensuring all requirements are met while working with the Drone team.
  • Organize and facilitate team meetings, creative think tanks, and story-pitch meetings.
  • During production peak times, remain accessible and work non-traditional days/hours as needed.
  • Participate in the recruiting, selecting, and scheduling of Content Associates and Production Assistants as needed for specific production groups and sport categories/show units.
  • Responsible for all personnel schedule accounting, including tracking hours and the vacation approval process. Help train new hires on Production departmental processes and procedures.
  • Provide objective feedback on performance to staff and remote personnel, sharing feedback as required.
  • Plan, request, and allocate production facility needs for assigned sports/shows/projects.
  • Work with production teams to ensure assigned productions meet established network creative and technical specifications, business objectives, and financial goals.
  • Work is reviewed from a short-to-mid-term perspective and against defined Production objectives, budgets, and schedules.
  • Traveling for productions (domestic and international) may be required.

Requirements

  • Strong organizational skills, including budgeting time and prioritizing workload, accuracy, and attention to detail in all tasks.
  • Understanding of the value of synergy in a dynamic organization.
  • Strong communication skills, including clear and concise communication in all forms, ability to handle high-volume email and phone traffic, and in-person interactions.
  • Ability to react quickly and positively under a wide variety of sensitive production situations that arise and are subject to continual change.
  • Ability to take initiative, suggest ideas and solutions to problems that arise or before they occur, and be a natural problem solver.
  • Basic experience in various aspects of production management, including processing contracts and invoices, creating, maintaining, and distributing production information, travel management, and production personnel scheduling/staffing.
  • Basic understanding of the production of studio shows, remote events, and/or packaged shows, as well as short-form and long-form in-program features.
  • Knowledge of the operational and logistical aspects of production planning.
  • Some financial management experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Office 365, Outlook, Excel, Word, One Note, and PowerPoint.

  • A minimum of 2 years of production and/or operations experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of the following systems/tools: Slack, Zoom, Smartsheets, KeyNote, NCS, ENPS, Playbook, Concur, Kronos, Autoflow Invoice Management, and SAP.
  • Prior experience in the development/review of legal contracts and footage licensing agreements.
  • Prior experience in the management/production of short-form and long-form features.

Education

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Preferred Education

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.

The hiring range for this position in Washington D.C. is $57,200.00 to $92,900.00 per year, Los Angeles, CA, is $58,630 to $78,650 per year, and New York, NY, is $55,842 to $82,390 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
