Project Coordinator Role Overview

At the City of Charlotte, we're seeking a skilled Project Coordinator to join our team in managing and coordinating tasks within large construction, maintenance, or rehabilitation projects for our city's infrastructure and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review construction plans, ensuring timely and quality completion.
  • Coordinate with outside agencies for permits, notify the public, and answer questions regarding construction details and impact.
  • Plan water and sewer routes, distribute construction assignments to contractors, and update records after reviews of inspectors.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you'll need a Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited school and one year of related work experience in design or technical planning.

Additionally, you'll need to possess strong communication skills, both orally and in writing, as well as the ability to apply conflict resolution techniques and work cooperatively with other City employees and the public.

Preferred qualifications include certification as an Engineering Intern (or equivalent credentials in the field of specialty) and proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Office products, and GIS software such as ArcGIS.

As a City of Charlotte employee, you'll enjoy a competitive salary range of $80,422.00 - $89,357.00, commensurate with experience, and a dynamic work environment that requires sensitivity to change and responsiveness to changing goals, priorities, and needs.
