Position Overview

COMPENSATION: The hourly wage for this role is $20.00. Please be aware that compensation may vary within the established range based on factors such as experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.

WORK SCHEDULE: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Initial training will occur Monday through Friday for the first three months, with occasional weekend coverage required post-training.

We are looking for a Sample Management Specialist I to join our Sample Management team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately execute and document all processes, materials, and outcomes in accordance with relevant regulatory standards (protocols, methods, SOPs, etc.).
  • Maintain archive security protocols and ensure the integrity of archived materials as per trained functions.
  • Enhance communication skills through informal interactions with colleagues, supervisors, and team members.
  • Develop critical thinking, troubleshooting, and time management abilities aligned with operational needs.
  • Assist in the disposal of expired laboratory reagents/solutions under supervision.
  • Support laboratory functions such as labeling/verification and receiving/logging supplies with oversight.
  • Help maintain departmental inventory of laboratory consumables with guidance.
  • Engage in process improvement initiatives as necessary.
  • Ensure proper disposal of laboratory waste in designated areas.
  • Manage the receipt and upkeep of test materials and laboratory supplies.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications (knowledge, experience, skills, and abilities necessary to perform essential functions) include, but are not limited to:

  • High School diploma, GED, or Associate's degree, or equivalent experience. No prior experience is necessary.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience outlined above.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, at all organizational levels.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Computer skills commensurate with essential functions, including the capacity to learn a validated system.
  • Willingness to work extended hours beyond the standard schedule, including evenings, weekends, and additional shifts as needed.
  • Ability to operate under specific time constraints.

Additionally:

  • Must be able to stand and walk for the majority of the day.
  • Must be capable of pushing heavy carts and lifting at least 50 pounds.
