Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Field Technician to join our team of construction materials testing professionals. As a Senior Field Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring public safety by inspecting construction sites and performing complex field tests. You will also supervise other technicians and provide training and guidance to ensure that work is performed in accordance with project specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform and supervise complex work tasks, including field soil and concrete tests
  • Train and supervise technicians and/or lead large projects
  • Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 70 lbs. on a regular basis
  • Prepare detailed and complete field reports with all relevant test results and inspections/observations
  • Evaluate site and subgrade conditions on construction projects and provide recommendations
  • Communicate with clients, contractors, and engineering and technician staff regarding construction issues
Requirements
  • 4+ years of relevant experience
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Thorough technical knowledge of testing requirements
  • Maintenance of ACI Level I Concrete, State DOT, WACEL, or ICC certifications in the disciplines of soils, reinforced concrete, and masonry
  • Completed technical training
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to apply basic mathematical formulas and concepts to calculate quantities, estimate volumes, inspect constructed work, make recommendations in the field, and perform calculations for field and laboratory tests and equipment
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams to achieve goals
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Valid driver's license and good-standing driving record
  • Some travel will be required
  • Must be willing to participate in and pass F&R's pre-employment screening, including a background investigation, drug screening, and driving record
