Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Roadway Worker In Charge to join our team at National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS). As a key member of our safety team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe operation of our railroad services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide jobsite coordination and ensure that all safety protocols are followed.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, train crews, and other railroad personnel to ensure safe operations.
  • Conduct thorough job briefings with all personnel on each job site to ensure they are aware of potential hazards.
  • Enforce all railroad, state, and federal policies and regulations.
  • Identify and resolve rule violations in accordance with railroad, state, and federal policies.
  • Ensure that all contractors and personnel are properly trained and equipped to perform their duties safely.
  • Submit daily field reports detailing contractor and railroad activities.
  • Provide on-track safety in accordance with 49 CFR 214 federal regulations.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a related field, preferably in the maintenance of way department.
  • Strong knowledge of railroad engineering, design, construction, and safety.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
  • Ability to travel for extended periods of time.
