Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Cape Fear Valley Health System. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and performing all aspects of respiratory care to patients in our Health System.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform all aspects and modalities of Respiratory Care to Health System patients per department guidelines.
  • Respond to resuscitation situations and other respiratory emergencies when needed.
  • Maintain and complete appropriate documentation in patients' charts and departmental records.
  • Perform as charge therapist when necessary.
Requirements
  • BCLS certified by the American Heart Association.
  • Must have an understanding of medical terminology and current respiratory care modalities.
  • Must have the ability to react calmly and maintain composure in stressful situations and when dealing with co-workers, patients, and hospital guests.
  • Is knowledgeable of the psychosocial and physiological development and spiritual needs of infants, children, adolescents, and all adult age groups (per Erickson's Model) in order to provide appropriate care and intervention, either personally or through staff.
  • Must be able to communicate orally, have manual dexterity to operate and assemble equipment, visual acuity, able to stand or walk for long periods of time, able to position and move patients, and able to push heavy equipment to patients' bedsides.
  • This position may involve skin, eye, and mucous membranes with blood or other potentially infectious materials.
Education and Certifications
  • RRT - National Board For Respiratory Care.
  • 1 year experience.
