Job Purpose:
The Retail General Manager is responsible for overseeing sales performance, customer experience, operations, recruitment, and team development within the store. This role requires strong leadership and strategic direction to create an environment that surpasses customer expectations both in-store and online, while maximizing productivity, profitability, and sales outcomes. The Retail General Manager must have a clear understanding of company objectives and processes and demonstrate the ability to fulfill these responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Achieving and exceeding sales targets for the store.
  • Driving company sales growth and profitability through effective selling, teamwork, product knowledge, and outstanding customer service.
  • Implementing engaging product selling and sampling initiatives in-store and at sampling stations throughout the day.
  • Fostering a customer-centric culture that prioritizes guest satisfaction and meets sales goals.
  • Overseeing customer feedback programs to ensure a memorable experience at each location.
  • Managing a team of hourly employees, including hiring, training, coaching, and retaining talent.
  • Conducting business analysis and customer insights to identify and address areas for improvement.
  • Managing the store's financial performance, key performance indicators, and inventory.
  • Monitoring labor costs and scheduling to optimize store operations.
  • Utilizing financial tools to proactively identify opportunities for performance enhancement.
  • Ensuring operational excellence, cleanliness, and compliance with food safety standards.
  • Maintaining a flexible schedule that meets customer and business needs, including weekends and evenings.
  • Ensuring compliance with all federal and local safety regulations.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a managerial role within a retail or restaurant environment, overseeing a team of at least 15 employees.
  • Knowledge and interest in health, fitness, and wellness.
  • Proven ability to build customer relationships and deliver exceptional service.
  • Ability to adapt to new procedures and changes while utilizing sound judgment in decision-making.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of sales principles, key performance indicators, and customer service practices.
  • Preferred: NYC Food Handler Card at the time of hire.
  • Experience managing profit and loss statements or similar financial reports.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications: Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
