Job Summary

Hart Medical Equipment is seeking a skilled Medical Equipment Delivery Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our delivery team, you will be responsible for delivering, setting up, and providing instruction on the proper use and care of medical equipment to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver and set up medical equipment at patient homes, ensuring timely and efficient service.
  • Provide clear and concise instruction to patients on the proper use and care of medical equipment.
  • Assist patients in solving problems related to equipment use and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
  • Load and unload equipment onto delivery vehicles, verifying all equipment and stock is loaded before departing.
  • Complete daily vehicle inspections and ensure vehicles meet company policy guidelines.
  • Communicate with dispatch regarding delivery schedules and any necessary changes.
  • Log daily deliveries and updates in the driver management system.
  • Respond to emergency calls and new patient orders during regular business hours and on-call rotations.
  • Complete and submit all paperwork at the end of each workday.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous DME experience or relevant experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to remain professional in stressful situations.
  • Valid Chauffer's license and ability to pass applicable background checks.

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly required to walk, talk, and hear.
  • Required to sit for periods of time in vehicle.
  • Regularly stand and lift objects, including medical and standard beds, over the bed tables, wheelchairs, and concentrators, from 1" to 36" high with weights ranging from 10 lbs. – 100 lbs., occasionally up to 170 lbs.
  • Frequently required to push or pull objects, including oxygen tanks, hydraulic lifts, and wheelchairs, weighing from 20 lbs. – 100 lbs. through various surfaces using dollies or carts.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
