About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Social Media Manager to join our team at Netflix. As a key member of our social media team, you will be responsible for developing and executing social media strategies to reach and engage with Black audiences across our original films, series, and licensed content.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Execute Social Media Strategy: Create and implement social media strategies to reach Black audiences across multiple platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and our @StrongBlackLead platforms.
  • Build Social Strategy for Netflix Films and Series: Develop social media strategies for relevant Netflix films and series, aligned with the overall marketing campaign strategy, including target audience, social creative, content distribution, and title social pages.
  • Manage Social Media Campaigns: Oversee the execution of social media campaigns for titles and slates, from ideation to production and distribution, working with internal and agency resources.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with key cross-functional partners, including Creative Marketing, Publicity, Paid Media, Events, and more, to build social media strategies that support business priorities for Black audiences.
  • Develop Multi-Title Promotional Narratives: Create promotional narratives for multiple titles based on audience behavior and need states, as well as existing channel tentpoles.
  • Analyze and Optimize Social Media Performance: Use internal and external social analytics and other internal data to inform strategy, iterate creative, and continuously improve future campaigns.
  • Lead Social Media Strategy and Creative: Serve as the main point of contact for social media strategy and creative across Marketing, Publicity, Content, and other teams working on single title or slate-level initiatives focused on Black audiences.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Experience in Social Media Marketing: Proven experience in developing and executing social media strategies for broad, multiple-platform marketing campaigns.
  • Knowledge of Social Media Platforms: Strong knowledge of what works across various social platforms and experience in multi-channel distribution efforts.
  • Background in Black Entertainment and Pop Culture: Background and affinity for Black entertainment and pop culture spaces.
  • Collaborative and Entrepreneurial Spirit: Entrepreneurial spirit and highly collaborative, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Experience using data and intuition to make content that grabs attention and engages the audience, with strong social media analytics skills.
  • Project Management and Prioritization: Ability to prioritize and handle several projects at the same time in a fast-paced environment, with a high tolerance for change and the capacity to accomplish enormous amounts of work.
  • Relationship Building and Communication: Strong relationships with internal cross-functional teams, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Presentation and Pitching Skills: Experience working directly with filmmakers and skilled in pitching/presenting, with the ability to read the room.
