Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to work directly with an Underwriter to learn how to review insurance applications against carrier guidelines. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and efficiently to meet contractual time service agreements.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Work with Underwriters to review insurance applications and determine eligibility.
  • Assist agents with comments or questions about applications and the likelihood of acceptance.
  • Log applications using automated log/proposal program and ensure accuracy.
  • Calculate modal premium due and prepare CWA Input Form.
  • Make outgoing calls to agents or applicants to verify information.
  • Complete non-medical telephone interviews with applicants when necessary.
  • Order and follow up on requirements pre and post issue.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma/GED with one year experience in insurance, medical field, or customer service.
  • Language skills: ability to read and interpret documents.
  • Reasoning ability: need to apply common sense to carry out written and/or verbal instructions.
  • Must be able to deal with problems containing multiple variables.
  • Must be a team player, multi-tasked, organized, and work efficiently.
