Your Role in Our Success

We are currently seeking a full-time Commercial Lines Underwriting Assistant. In this position, you will play a crucial role in influencing the daily operations of FrankCrum by engaging with agents, clients, and service providers to ensure optimal service delivery.
  1. Evaluate pricing and risk selection within established authority limits.
  2. Accurately process work items received from agents, clients, and service providers.
  3. Request inspection reports and distribute recommendation letters.
  4. Issue notifications such as Nonrenewal, Cancellation, and Reinstatement.
  5. Follow up with agents regarding outstanding requirements.
  6. Conduct research and review databases, reports, policy information, and other online resources to fulfill required tasks.
  7. Process and manage new and renewal business within authority limits.
  8. Handle change requests for coverage modifications, policy updates, and cancellations as directed.
  9. Engage in project work, including research, policy cleanup, and quality reviews.
  10. Participate in system testing related to underwriting processes.
  11. Assist with agency and client communications through approved methods.
  12. Update policies as authorized by underwriting.
  13. Stay informed about evolving department procedures and processes.
  14. Utilize current systems effectively and adhere to established procedures.
  15. Support administrative tasks such as data entry, document management, and file maintenance as directed by your supervisor.
  16. Contribute to maintaining departmental quality standards by helping your team achieve service and quality targets.
  17. Ensure timely and accurate data entry of policy files.
  18. Monitor email communications from agents and clients.
Qualifications We Value

Success in this role requires a solid understanding of various lines of business and insurance coverages, with a preference for knowledge in commercial casualty underwriting practices. A minimum of one (1) year of prior experience in commercial insurance, including agency and/or underwriting, along with a high school diploma or equivalent, is required.
