Key Responsibilities

The Generics Retail Sales Specialist - Remote utilizes the Richardson Sales model to cultivate, sustain, and execute long-term business relationships with designated clients, focusing heavily on contract generic expansion and the comprehensive offerings of Cencora.

This role involves:

  • Providing industry insights and a thorough explanation of total value.
  • Recapturing lost sales orders that deliver value to both the customer and Cencora.
  • Collaborating closely with field sales counterparts to pinpoint target accounts, including those with existing compliance challenges and high potential opportunities.

Primary Duties:

  • Drive generic sales within a selected group of accounts.
  • Meet monthly sales and activity objectives established with the department manager, which may encompass call volume, order conversion rates, order volume, and revenue.
  • Analyze reports and data to evaluate profitability growth of PRxO generics; develop and implement strategies to ensure ongoing success.
  • Maintain meticulous follow-through in customer interactions; customize solutions and sales messages to align with customer needs, ensuring continuous follow-up to seize additional business opportunities.
  • Utilize the HUB to update customer activities, ensuring visibility for field sales counterparts.
  • Inform existing customers about new programs, promotional activities, pricing strategies, and assist with any current issues or unresolved matters.
  • Work with Field Sales, particularly the Sales Executive role, to formulate account-specific strategies considering customer goals, current PRxO sales, compliance, and generics best practices.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of customer needs through dialogue; gather competitive intelligence at both market and customer levels to tailor solutions effectively.
  • Collaborate with the Corporate Generics team and other Generic Directors to establish a unified PRxO approach.
  • Support and execute individual programs aimed at driving PRxO sales, including new product launches and compliance initiatives.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations to the Corporate Generics team regarding programs, policies, products, and pricing.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for annual meetings.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A bachelor's degree in business administration, sales, marketing, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • A minimum of four years of directly related experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • At least two years of experience in a phone or call center environment.
  • The ability to adapt to daily changes in products and procedures.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and a commitment to customer satisfaction.
  • Competent understanding of sales management, planning, and successful selling techniques.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster cooperative working relationships.
  • The ability to analyze customer financial data and develop strategies to address identified financial issues.
  • Capability to interpret industry trends and competitive information to adapt strategies accordingly.
  • Creativity and focus in problem-solving.
  • Familiarity with the Customer Value Chain.
  • Proficiency in using computers and company systems effectively.
