We are seeking a dedicated Network Security Engineer – Network & Transport Operations to enhance our technical operations support for the Armstrong IP Network.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer, configure, and support essential security infrastructure, including Firewalls, Routers, Switches, and additional security devices.
  • Oversee the Arbor dDoS mitigation platform and Splunk SIEM systems.
  • Utilize expertise in IP and secure networking principles to optimize our production network.
  • Maintain comprehensive equipment inventory and configuration management, along with developing and sustaining documentation for network initiatives.
  • Possess a foundational understanding of deployed IP network products and the capacity to adapt to new technologies, including OSPF, BGP routing, MPLS, and Cisco CLI.
  • Exhibit proficiency in PC skills and familiarity with MS Office applications, including Visio, Word, and Excel.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Be self-driven, capable of working independently as well as collaboratively with the Network Operations team.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule to ensure network services are upheld, including availability for after-hours support.
  • Communicate complex issues clearly and effectively to management, other departments, and network vendors.
  • Propose both technical and procedural enhancements to improve overall Network Security objectives and departmental efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in operational and/or engineering roles within the technical industry.
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical education.
  • Industry certifications such as CCNA and CISSP are preferred, with security certifications being a plus.
