Healthcare Receptionist

New York Cancer & Blood Specialists (NYCBS) is a leading Oncology/Hematology practice seeking a dedicated Front Desk Receptionist to become part of our esteemed and expanding sub-specialty clinic with academic ties. Our facilities encompass a comprehensive outpatient Cancer Center operating seven days a week, offering extensive chemotherapy services, Radiation Oncology, Pharmacy, and Research departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily opening and closing operations of the office.
- Greet all patients and visitors warmly and professionally.
- Provide comfort to patients and maintain an inviting reception area.
- Handle incoming calls; address inquiries; resolve issues; and manage patient appointment scheduling.
- Collect co-payments and ensure daily financial reconciliation.
- Assist patients in completing necessary forms and documentation.
- Maintain and update patient records using the practice's EMR system.
- Coordinate and manage physician schedules according to established guidelines.
- Distribute quality assurance surveys and prevention screenings daily.
- Collaborate with nursing staff to monitor and respond to messages from Care Team inboxes.
- Ensure all patients requiring appointments are scheduled appropriately by reviewing daily visit lists.
- Safeguard patient confidentiality by adhering to HIPAA regulations.
- Support team efforts by adapting to other related roles as needed.
- Maintain office operations by following established policies and procedures.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned for special projects.
- High School diploma with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
- Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
- Strong oral and written communication abilities.
- Capability to accept guidance and work collaboratively within a team.
- Typing and computer proficiency is advantageous.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Prior experience in a similar role is beneficial.
