Healthcare Receptionist
Location: Brooklyn, NY

New York Cancer & Blood Specialists (NYCBS) is a leading Oncology/Hematology practice seeking a dedicated Front Desk Receptionist to become part of our esteemed and expanding sub-specialty clinic with academic ties. Our facilities encompass a comprehensive outpatient Cancer Center operating seven days a week, offering extensive chemotherapy services, Radiation Oncology, Pharmacy, and Research departments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the daily opening and closing operations of the office.
  • Greet all patients and visitors warmly and professionally.
  • Provide comfort to patients and maintain an inviting reception area.
  • Handle incoming calls; address inquiries; resolve issues; and manage patient appointment scheduling.
  • Collect co-payments and ensure daily financial reconciliation.
  • Assist patients in completing necessary forms and documentation.
  • Maintain and update patient records using the practice's EMR system.
  • Coordinate and manage physician schedules according to established guidelines.
  • Distribute quality assurance surveys and prevention screenings daily.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff to monitor and respond to messages from Care Team inboxes.
  • Ensure all patients requiring appointments are scheduled appropriately by reviewing daily visit lists.
  • Safeguard patient confidentiality by adhering to HIPAA regulations.
  • Support team efforts by adapting to other related roles as needed.
  • Maintain office operations by following established policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned for special projects.
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication abilities.
  • Capability to accept guidance and work collaboratively within a team.
  • Typing and computer proficiency is advantageous.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Prior experience in a similar role is beneficial.
Salary up to $22 per hour along with benefits including Tuition Reimbursement, Health Insurance from day one, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short and Long-term disability, 401k Plan, generous Paid Time Off, and eight paid holidays (including two floating days).
