Job Summary

The Associate Vice President, Perioperative and Procedural Areas, is a senior leadership position responsible for the strategic direction and operational management of perioperative and procedural areas at UF Health Jacksonville. This role requires a strong leader who can foster a collaborative culture, drive process improvements, and ensure exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to improve patient outcomes, reduce costs, and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Lead a team of professionals to manage perioperative and procedural areas, including operating rooms, post-anesthesia care units, and sterile processing.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute business plans that align with the mission, vision, and values of UF Health Jacksonville.
  • Monitor and analyze performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to achieve excellence in perioperative nursing and surgical services.
  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports to ensure fiscal responsibility and accountability.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance and excellence in perioperative and procedural services.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) and Master's degree in Nursing, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of progressively responsible healthcare management experience, including a minimum of 10 years in a leadership role within hospital operations.
  • Experience in a leadership role at a Magnet Designated hospital and academic medical center with demonstrated success working in a matrixed management model.
  • Experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center.
  • Experience in budget management, change management, and process improvement is highly desirable.
Preferred Qualifications
  • DNP or PhD in Nursing or a related field.
  • Certification in nursing administration (NE-BC, NEA-BC, CENP), Certified Surgical Services Manager (CSSM), Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR), Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse (CPAN), Certified Ambulatory Peri-anesthesia Nurse (CAPA), or Certified Ambulatory Surgery Nurse (CNAMB).
