Code Enforcement Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled Code Enforcement Officer to join our team at the City of Lexington. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for enforcing zoning ordinances and managing the local ordinance enforcement program.
Key Responsibilities- Enforce minimum housing code for the Business and Community Development department
- Perform responsible technical work enforcing zoning ordinances
- Manage and administer the local ordinance enforcement program
- Inspect properties to ensure compliance with local codes and regulations
- Graduation from high school or equivalent
- Valid NC driver's license and good driving record
- Ability to obtain NC Housing Code Official Certificate within 12 months of hire
- Two years' experience in code enforcement for Code Enforcement Officer II and III
- NC Housing Code Official Certificate and Zoning Official Certificate for Code Enforcement Officer II and III
Monday-Friday; 7:30am-4:30pm and after hours as needed.
